Patient Consent Policy for Social Media

At A Plus Physiotherapy, we are committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of our patients in accordance with the Australian Health Act. As part of our efforts to promote our services and educate our community about the benefits of physiotherapy, we may use photographs and testimonials of our patients on our website and social media platforms.

To obtain consent for the use of patient images on social media, we have implemented the following policy:

  1. Patients will be informed about the potential use of their images on social media during the initial consultation and that written consent is required in accordance with the Australian Health Act.

  2. We will obtain written consent from patients through the use of a specific patient consent form at time of, although, this may be included as part of our service agreements.

  3. Patients have the right to withdraw their consent at any time by contacting us in writing. We will promptly remove any images for which consent has been withdrawn.

  4. We will ensure that all patient images are used in compliance with relevant privacy laws and regulations and in the patient’s best interest.

  5. We will only use images that are appropriate and respectful, and that do not reveal any personal information that could identify the patient, such as their full name or address.

  6. We will keep a record of all consents obtained and will review them periodically to ensure their continued validity.

  7. We will always act in accordance with the patient’s best interest and will not post any image without their consent.

  8. Our therapists are responsible for informing patients about the potential use of their images on social media during the initial consultation, obtaining written consent through the use of the specific patient consent form, ensuring that the consent form is completed accurately and that all necessary information is provided to the patient, and contact the marketing department if they have any questions about the use of patient images on social media or if patients have any questions or concerns about the policy.

  9. As legislation changes frequently, we will remain vigilant and update our policies and procedures accordingly to ensure compliance with the Australian Health Act

T&C’s

These terms of service are available to clients on the clinic website and should be understood by all staff, both administratively and therapeutically.

1. Pricing

All prices are in Australian Dollars and are subject to change without notice. Prices are available by contacting A plus physiotherapy. From time to time, there may be discounts that certain individuals are privy to, including, but not limited to Pensioners, Low Income Card Holders and Community Partners.

2. Goods and Services Tax (GST)

GST is applied to relevant services and products and will be included in the quoted fee for service of product. Most health care services are GST exempt, except in certain circumstances, whereby the service is not for the rehabilitation of an injury. Goods supplied with your rehabilitation may be GST exempt under certain conditions. Please contact us if you require any confirmation.

3. Consent

By attending your appointment at a A plus physiotherapy, or in home, you are providing implied consent to the assessment of your condition. Your therapist will seek further consent to commence treatment

4. Personal Information Handling

A plus physiotherapy collects details for a number of reasons, including, but not limited to treatment diagnosis and treatment, marketing, personal communication and account management. By attending A plus physiotherapy and providing these details, you give consent to A plus physiotherapy to use them in a respectful manner, under the Australian privacy principles, Spam act and Privacy Act.

6. Communication

From time to time, A plus physiotherapy will use your details to be in contact with you for appointment reminders, update emails or letters, marketing emails, newsletters or general interest pieces. Each of our communication avenues gives you the ability to unsubscribe, alternatively, you can contact A plus physiotherapy to be taken off the contact register. 7. Accounts

A plus physiotherapy does not hold personal accounts. All private accounts are payable at the time of consultation. Only in extreme situations may A plus physiotherapy grant a private account, and it is at the discretion of the Manager of the clinic. Approved Third Party Payable accounts may be commenced under appropriate conditions. These include but are not limited to; approved Workers Compensation Claims, approved Motor Vehicle Accident Claims, approved and current NDIS plan, approved and appropriately referred DVA Gold card holders.

8. Payment
Payment is to be made at time of consultation. A Plus physiotherapy accepts various forms of payment, including cash, credit card and private insurance card from approved insurers. A plus physiotherapy reserve the right to charge a credit card fee.

9. Cancellation and Late Appointments

All appointments that are requiring a reschedule or cancellation should be done so 6 hrs in advance. A Plus Physiotherapy reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee of no more than the cost of the appointment. If you are running late for an appointment, depending on therapist availability, you may be only able to receive the outstanding time of your appointment for treatment.

For NDIS based appointments, the participant must give 24 hours notice if they cannot attend a scheduled appointment. If the participant fails to give 1 days notice the scheduled appointment will be billed from the supports on the participant’s NDIS plan.

10. Complaints

All clients have various avenues to make formal and informal complaints. Please contact admin@aplusphysiotherapy.com, or hand in a hand-written letter of complaint. All complaints will be handled promptly and you will be notified of the process and outcome.

11. Title to Goods

Goods purchased at A Plus physiotherapy clinics or online will only be transferred to the client once full payment has been made.

12. Availability of Products

A plus physiotherapy is not a storage house of rehabilitation products, and cannot guarantee that all products are in stock. The usual time frame for delivery through our approved suppliers is 24-48hrs, however with certain products, it can take longer to source. Ordering of products may only be made with a deposit paid at time of ordering.

13. Return of Goods

Had a product be unwanted and is unused, the product may be returned to the A Plus Physiotherapy clinic it was purchased from, within 7 days and as long as it is in its original packaging. Following the 7 days, it is at the discretion of the third-party supply as to whether or not the refund may occur. Clients will pay any associated shipping costs to return the product to the supplier.

14. Damaged or Defective Goods

If any goods are damaged or defective, and not through normal wear and tear, A Plus physiotherapy will make a judgement on the goods and replace them at no cost to the client.

15. Warranty on Goods

All manufacturers warranties will be upheld by A Plus physiotherapy. Warranties cover parts and materials covered in the manufacture of the goods, they do not apply from improper use or operator error. Maintenance should be carried out regularly to ensure warranties remain valid.

16. Guarantee

A Plus physiotherapy makes no guarantee of effect of treatment. All therapists are appropriately trained in their field and will make every attempt to assist in the rehabilitation of injury, in the treatment of pain, or in the coordination of health care. In the event that the outcome is not to plan, the client agrees that service has still been given, and no refund should apply.

17. NDIS

Under the NDIS, A plus physiotherapy abides by a certain set of regulations and service agreement standards that are separate to these terms of service. NDIS service agreement standards can be found on our website.
